Mary Laine Hucks has been promoted to the position of Director of Economic Development and Marketing for the City of Goodlettsville, according to Tim Ellis, City Manager. Hucks has served the city for 11+ years, most recently as the Marketing and PR Manager.
“Mary Laine brings high energy to her new position, as well as, a great degree of professionalism and people skills,” said Ellis. “I’m excited to see where she leads our great city as we further develop its economic vitality,” he added.
“I have a personal love and investment in the success of Goodlettsville, as I am originally from the area and call it home today. Goodlettsville’s location provides unique opportunities for business recruitment and expansion as Middle Tennessee grows. With Goodlettsville being the next-door neighbor to the North of the “it” city, Nashville, it is naturally in line for growth,” says Hucks.
Located within a twelve-minute drive to downtown Nashville, a fifteen-minute drive to Nashville International Airport and within a day’s drive to two-thirds of the country, the City has a desirable position for getting people and commercial goods to their destinations. Highly traveled Interstate I-65 passes through Goodlettsville with three exits off the Interstate, and it intersects two more of the nation’s busiest interstates, I-40 and I-24, just a few minutes down the road. Also, CSX railroad runs through the City providing customers with access to an interconnected transportation network.
Business recruitment and expansion for the City of Goodlettsville will be primary goals for Hucks in her new role. She can be reached directly at 615-851-3211.
